NORWELL VISITING NURSE ASSOCIATION TO SPEAK AT
“STAYING IN THE HOME WITH HELP” ON OCTOBER 17

Norwell VNA to take part in October educational series

NORWELL, MA (September 28, 2007) – The Norwell Visiting Nurse Association’s (VNA) is pleased to announce its participation in the South Shore Elder Services and Cohasset Elder Affairs’ annual October Educational series on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Cohasset Elder Affairs located at 3 North Main Street in Cohasset. The series includes a collection of lectures focused on providing support to the community’s elders. This year the Norwell VNA will speak during the series newest topic, “Staying in the Home with Help.”

The program will be moderated by Kathleen Capuzzo, from South Shore Elder Services, and include speakers Michelle Sweeney, Norwell VNA Community Health and Education Liaison, and Heather Kenney, from North River Home Care located in Norwell. The goal of the program is to educate attendees on the types of home care options that are available and services that are offered. Cohasset Elder Affairs and South Shore Elder Services hope that this discussion will provide attendees with the information they need when determining which service is right for them.

“It is important for seniors to understand their options,” said Sweeney. “By utilizing the latest technologies in home health care in combination with developing a home health care plan with a patient’s primary care physician, seniors are now safely living in their homes longer than ever. The goal of this lecture will be to educate seniors with the different care options in the hopes that they may make an informed decision when planning in the future.”

Speakers will be on hand following the discussion to answer. Lunch will be served following the program. A $2.50 donation is asked from each attendee to cover the cost of food. Reservations are requested and can be made by calling Cohasset Elder Affairs at 781-383-9112. For more information please call the Norwell VNA at 781-659-2342.
