NORWELL VISITING NURSE ASSOCIATION
HIRES NEW DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
Needham resident Jeanne Carey brings new focus to organization’s fundraising efforts
February 6, 2007 (NORWELL, MA) – Meg Doherty, Executive Director of the Norwell Visiting Nurse Association (VNA), has announced the addition of Jeanne Carey as the organization’s Director of Development.
Carey will oversee all donations and fundraising efforts of the organization, in addition to serving as liaison to the volunteer-based Friends of the Norwell VNA. She is responsible for building and maintaining the organization’s
donor database, determining grant opportunities and developing an overall culture of philanthropy at the Norwell VNA.
Carey brings an extensive background in development and nursing to the Norwell VNA. For the past five years, she served as Director of Development for St. Joseph’s Schools and Parish in Needham, Mass, where she was responsible for development
and implementation of volunteer and fundraising programs. Carey was instrumental in instituting St. Joseph’s first Annual School Fund.
“I am thrilled to have been invited to assist the Norwell VNA with their development efforts,” said Carey. “My previous experiences at St. Joseph’s taught me that community involvement is critical to an organization’s success. I look forward
to working with the Norwell VNA as we move toward the next level of excellence in service to our South Shore communities.”
“Jeanne’s background in development and nursing makes her a valuable new addition to our organization,” said Doherty. “Her experiences and fresh outlook will add great new insights to our team.”
Carey holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich., as well as a Juris Doctor from New England School of Law in Boston, Mass. She lives in Needham with her husband, Stephen, and her two daughters
who attend Needham High School. An avid volunteer herself, Carey also enjoys reading and knitting in her spare time.
