February 8, 2008 (NORWELL, MA) –In recognition of Heart Health Awareness month, the Norwell Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) is offering cholesterol screenings on Monday, February 25, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at the Norwell Council on Aging, located at 293 Pine Street in Norwell.
High cholesterol is one of the most common risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease, which is currently the number one cause of death in the United States. Understanding the difference between good and bad cholesterol and how best to manage it can greatly reduce the risk for heart attack or stroke. It is important for people to be aware of their risks and have routine screenings with their physicians. At the screening the Norwell VNA staff will be on hand to explain the differences of good and bad cholesterol as well as answer questions regarding how best to manage cholesterol levels.
