FACING DIABETES FRUSTRATIONS

Norwell VNA Diabetes Support Group Meets March 3rd

February 15, 2008 (NORWELL, MA) – Daily life is a never-ending obstacle course for diabetics. Controlling blood sugar levels, maintaining diet and weight, and adjusting to new medications causes a myriad of complications for diabetes, often leaving them very frustrated. Norwell Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) Certified Diabetes Educator Lori Mahoney hopes that the Monday, March 3, 2008 meeting of the Norwell VNA Diabetes Support Group can offer individuals some possible solutions to such challenges.

The group will next meet from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the South Shore Baptist Church, 578 Main Street, Hingham on Monday, March 3. It will feature a round-table discussion entitled “Facing and Fading Away Diabetes Frustrations” led by Mahoney. South Shore residents are invited to attend and are encouraged to share their own stories and frustrations. Diabetes educators will be on hand to share possible solutions to individual challenges.

“This promises to be an extremely informative session, and we hope those who join us will share their stories with one another,” said Lori Mahoney, Norwell VNA Certified Diabetes Educator. “We want our participants to leave the meeting better informed about their options for handling their frustrations and realize that there are others facing similar situations.”

Supported by the Friends of the Norwell VNA, the Diabetes Support Group is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided, and there is plenty of free, handicapped accessible parking.
