The Norwell Visiting Nurse Association opened its doors in 1920 to bring essential health service and education into the homes of our community, whenever needed. At the time, one nurse, Renee Roe (shown here), provided all the health and illness assistance in Norwell. Her vision became the founding of the Norwell VNA.
Today, a team of over 100 health clinicians cares for more than 500 patients a day all over the South Shore. Throughout decades of social and medical change, the one constant has been the human element of caring for others. Our Founders' original vision is practiced every day, with each home visit, free clinic, public health initiative, educational program and outreach effort. The Norwell VNA takes pride in providing patients with many services formerly available only in hospitals and nursing homes.
